Hey There!
This week we went back to the basics to figure out how to use our kitchen appliances. Slow cookers, pressure cookers, fyers, roasters… the list goes on. Many have these appliances and just don’t know how to use them. That’s where we come in. If you can master a few skills using a few of these appliances, you’ll be looking like a pro in no time!
Buffalo Chicken Sliders
Directions for Buffalo Chicken
Turn your slow cooker on to 350 degrees. Wash your chicken breast, pat dry, and add to your slow cooker. No need to cut or cube, as it should be soft enough to pull apart with forks at the end. Add your entire jar of sauce, making sure your chicken breast are covered. Cook for 15 minutes. Once cooked, take two forks and begin to pull the chicken. Once shredded to the proper consistency (The chicken shreds should be about the size of spaghetti noodles), add in sour cream to thicken the sauce. Let sit while you make your slaw, or for about 10 minutes.
Directions for Slaw
Add your carrots, cabbage, and dressing to a medium sized bowl and mix until the dressing is covering all of your veggies.
Toast your slider buns until golden brown. Add pulled chicken and top with the savory slaw. Enjoy!

Butter for Toasting the buns
Notes: We love this recipe because it doesn’t take much to master this skill. Once you learn how to make pulled chicken in the slow cooker, you can flavor it however you like, switch up the protein, and even the base. Another variation of this dish would be teriyaki chicken on top of a bed of rice, with broccoli on top.
Seasonal Lentils
Directions
Turn your pressure cooker to high heat. Add your veggies, and spices to the pressure cooker and saute for 1-2 minutes. Next, add your lentils and broth and stir. Place the lid on your pot and cook at high pressure for 20 minutes. While that is cooking, you can either make rice on the stove, or before cooking, follow our recipe below on how to make perfect pressure cooker rice in just 10 minutes.
Once done, place a towel on top of your cooker and release the pressure. Let stand for 7 minutes. Plate your rice, add lentils to the top, and serve!
